About Sonu

My name is Sonu and I am a 19 year old Animation student at Arts University Bournemouth- not only do I love to create art for university work, I enjoy painting and illustrating in my spare time. Currently I am selling commissions and other pieces of artwork- I enjoy using my art skills on a professional level, yet I am always looking for ways to improve my style.

Many of my peers have mentioned that I am a fun and social person to work with, as well as the members of my art society mentioning that I keep the sessions interesting and explain techniques carefully, ensuring that everyone present is able to understand, both traits which I will maintain throughout my role as a tutor.

About the lesson

My lessons are for pupils in secondary school from year 7 to year 13. The first lesson would entail discussing with the student what they would like to work on and I will plan the following lessons to tailor to their interests , improving their skills and to make it a fun experience.

I have studied Art GCSE and A-Level, both of which I have scored A*- for students who aim to achieve this grade I am able to review and feedback on how they can improve their artwork in order to gain a higher result.

I have led art societies in school for pupils from ages 15-18 who are interested in improving their drawing skills or interested in taking a career in art and design.

Outside of the school environment, I have been an art assistant for a Saturday art club for a year, planning tasks and supporting children from ages 4-13, so I enjoy working with children of all ages who love to be creative.

Each lesson is an hour, split into different sections;
The first 10 minutes are a warm up of quick sketching activities to engage the brain and creativity, followed by 10 minutes of theory and demonstrations, depending on the lesson and finishing with 40 minutes of longer tasks and activities.
