My birth preparation ethos is based around
"Empowering you to have the birth that is right for you."
While I believe that a completely natural pain free birth is possible for a lot of people, this is not what I promise with my course.
Armed with practical information about how your body works and what your birthing options are, coupled with with some basic Hypnobirthing techniques you will be calm enough to make the right choices for you, your body and your baby on the day, whatever specific set of circumstances life throws at you.
There is no contingency, no unplanned caesarean birth, no complex medical complication that will not be made easier by having correct, up to date information and the clarity of mind that will enable you to make the right decisions for you.
I'm not here to tell you there is only one right way to birth. I'm here to empower you to have the birth that is right for you.

I feel really passionately about the post-natal period and how it can effect your parenting journey and sense of self for years to come. I believe that after giving birth, whether vaginally or through caesarian birth, birthing people need and deserve rest and a level of support that our society simply doesn't value or provide. I am here to provide that support in the way that works best for you and your family, whatever that may be.

I have years of experience working as a Nanny in the private sector and in a Pre-school setting.
I've worked with families with multiple children of all ages including newborns. I have a keen interest in child development and subscribe to a gentle parenting/conscious parenting approach. I am well versed in coaching parents through specific as well as general parenting challenges.

About the lesson

I am available to teach a comprehensive childbirth preparation course over 5 sessions.
I also offer hour long parenting coaching sessions and postnatal sessions for birth debriefs. I provide space for you to talk about challenging behaviours that are coming up with your children and help you to find solutions.
I am trained in trauma informed care and approach parenting from a holistic and conscious perspective.
I worked for years in the private nannying sector and nursery settings while completing certification in child development, holistic parenting practice, nutrition for pregnancy, postpartum and young children, Hypnobirthing DIpH, Perinatal mental health and hypnotherapy.
