I am an Associate Professor, Cultural Anthropology and have been teaching Cultural Anthropology, Social Studies, Community Development Studies, Cultural Diversity, Sociology, History and African Civilization for over twenty years both abroad and the United States. I hold a teachers certificate.

I believe that teaching is the process of unfolding and developing the learners' innate tendencies, including but not limited to skills, abilities, values and attitudes. Teaching is a skill based on developing the process of inquiry that enables the learners to explore the physical, natural and social worlds in which they live. Here, the teacher's role becomes very crucial, and his/her expertise is often reflected in the learners' performance. In effect, students learn if they feel accepted and valued for who they are, and when there is collaboration between teacher and student based on mutual respect and trust. Effective learning takes place in a positive and safe learning environment.
