About Marc Wood
Bonjour. Je m'appelle Marc Wood Pierre. I come from Haiti where French is one of the two official languages of the land. In Haiti, French is the language used in education and public administration.
I hold a Certificate in French teaching from the State University of Haiti (Université d'État d'Haiti). I have been teaching French for more than 10 years back in Haiti. Currently, I work as a French substitute teacher with the NYC DOE.
I love teaching French and it is a pleasure to work with you to help you grow your communication skills in French.

Although I prioritize the communicative approach to developing basic language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, I also put some focus on building up comprehension of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural aspects.
A typical lesson plan involves watching videos and listening activities, speaking tasks, writing tasks, and reading activities.
As a French tutor, I tend to make the session enjoyable with a clear understanding of the topic explored. My rates are also affordable.
I offer French lessons for a large audience including middle school and high school scholars, college students, and professionals.
