About Emma
I studied history and art history at Wake Forest University, with a focus on medieval art (particularly Spanish art). I have extensive research experience, and won prizes at Wake Forest for my academic writing. I presented my thesis research at the national convention of the National History Honors Society in the winter of 2016. Since earning my degree, I have been working as an art world professional first in New York City and now in Indianapolis. I am eager to share my strategies and knowledge on the study of art history!

Art history is all about placing a piece of art into its historical context. By doing this, we are able to bring a piece of art to life. It becomes more than a flash card with a date to memorize. These pieces of art are real objects, created by real people in the past. To truly understand and appreciate art history, it's important to go beyond memorizing dates and titles (although, I'll help with some strategies for that as well!).
