About Diva
I am a curator and art history teacher with a Ph.D. and 10 years of experience curating and 7 years of experience teaching at UC Santa Barbara. I specialize in seventeenth-century Dutch art and art of early modern Europe (c. 1400-1700), however I have taught across all periods of art history, from ancient to modern and contemporary. As a teacher, I often helped my students fine tune their writing, helped my students prepare for exams, and worked with students closely in office hours. I also have extensive experience in academia and the museum world, including publications, presenting academic papers, and curating large exhibitions. I am very adept at editing a cover letter or application essay, and have written or co-written several successful grant and fellowship applications.

I am uniquely suited to help students at all levels of art history courses, from high school AP Art History to undergraduate or graduate. My teaching style is dynamic, conversational, and fun, and we will talk through the topics at hand together. Examples of lessons may include:
