About Crystal

I am an artist, designer, and landscape photographer and I've taught students arts from different countries and ages for more than 10 years. I am good at encouraging and revealing students' potential. Whether teaching painting skills or experiencing works, my teaching is patient and sincere, enabling students to acquire knowledge in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere and to develop an eye for discovering beauty.

I received my Master's degree in urbanism from the University of Sydney. I have been studying under Meisheng Zhao, a master of Chinese painting, and Jiale Tao, an oil painter for 14 years. I engaged in the design industry for many years, master various painting skills.

About the lesson

My teaching methods include active online and face-to-face tutorials and courses. I base my lessons on different age groups students, characteristics, levels, and interests. I approach topics by various types of design knowledge, drawing skills, and art history. Here are four strategies that proved to be extremely effective in my classroom.
1. Student-Centered Discussions
I create small groups of three or four students, and they answer the questions in those small groups first, ensuring all students have an opportunity to participate.
2. Making Connections
Students will be much more engaged, and those real-world connections will help students understand the content and theories you're teaching much better than by simply reading a textbook.
3. Increased Autonomy
I make sure to still provide my students with clear learning goals, but they are able to make their own choices within that framework. Autonomy helps engage and empower my students, and it enables them to have a voice in their learning.
4. Building Relationships
Building relationships in the classroom is extremely powerful for students' behavioral and academic success. Teachers can help build relationships by meeting with students during office hours and creating team-building projects like student videos.

For children art lessons, the hourly rate of individual type is $80, the hourly rate of group lessons is $78. For adult art lessons, the hourly rate of individual type is $85, the hourly rate of group lessons is $82.
