About Jemma

I am a figure skating coach and aspiring English teacher from Northwest Indiana. In my free time, I enjoy making art and spending time outside. I also love to read and write creatively.

Beyond their use in my university coursework, reading and writing are among the most important components of my day-to-day life. I find that being able to read and write effectively has made me a much better communicator, employee, and friend. Language is a tool that has a much broader application than many people tend to realize, which is part of why I love learning about it!

Having strong English skills allows me to appreciate every book, movie, conversation, and speech with more intentionality. It also allows me to be confident in the words that I use, no matter their context.

About the lesson

Having worked with various students of different ages and backgrounds, I understand that all students learn differently. I will work with you to identify your learning targets and areas of interest in order to make a collaborative lesson plan in which we consider not only your academic goals, but also your individual passions.

I will do my best to support your learning at any level, and am willing to go the extra mile to help you prepare for exams, essays, or other reading-related concerns. I have been a coach for five years, which has taught me the importance of an uplifting and encouraging demeanor. I will cheer you on no matter what!
