About Samantha

Hi, I’m Samantha, a tutor based in Norwich who teaches English, practical business skills, and beginner photography, in person or online.

I’m a returning student myself, currently studying for a BA in Photography with the Open College of the Arts while working full-time. That means I know what it takes to manage study alongside work and life, and I understand how daunting it can feel to learn again after time away. I bring that understanding to every lesson.

My own studies involve a lot of reading, writing, and essay work, so I use these skills every day. I hold Grades B and C in English Literature and Language, and a [Level 3] BTEC in Business [Distinction*], A* equivalent to an A-level. I’m also currently building my own business, so I understand the planning, marketing, and persistence it takes to get one off the ground, and I enjoy sharing practical, beginner-friendly tips.

I’m new to tutoring, so I’m offering a free intro chat. It’s a chance to meet, talk through what you need, and check that we’re a good fit before you commit to anything.

About the lesson

My approach

I believe business skills are learnt best by doing, so my lessons are practical, clear, and jargon-free. I start with a short chat about where you are and what you want to achieve, whether that’s starting a side venture, understanding the basics, or building confidence with marketing and planning. Then I build lessons around your goals rather than a fixed script.

Techniques and methodology

- Break big ideas like planning, pricing, and marketing into small, manageable steps.
- Use real, relatable examples and work through your own business ideas together.
- Build simple, practical tools with you, such as a basic business plan, a pricing sheet, or a content plan.
- Give honest, encouraging feedback, with one or two clear actions to take each time.
- Set short, optional tasks between lessons, and no pressure if you don’t want them.

Lesson length

Lessons are 60 minutes, online by video call or in person in Norwich. Shorter or longer sessions are possible if that suits you better.

Qualifications and experience

I hold a [Level 3] BTEC in Business [Distinction], equivalent to an A-level, and I’m currently building my own business, so I combine formal study with real, hands-on experience of planning, marketing, and persistence. I’m also a returning student, studying for a BA in Photography with the Open College of the Arts while working full-time, so I know how to balance learning with real life.
I’m new to tutoring, so I’m offering a free intro chat and fair rates while I build up reviews.
