About Valentine
Hello!
My name is Valentine and I'm a 24 year old Australian-French pastry chef living in Paris.
Languages have always been a big part of my life, growing up in a French, English and Spanish speaking household as well as having family spread out all over the world, in France, Australia, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
After getting my culinary arts bachelor's degree in Paris, I decided to move to Christchurch, New Zealand for 2 years. There, I learnt a lot by working as a full time pastry chef but also by getting to know a whole different culture and engaging with locals. This experience showed me how important languages are and how special it is to be able to connect with people wherever you are in the world.
Now settled in Paris again, I'm excited to continue my career as a pastry chef and I would love to help anyone I can in gaining confidence with their English-speaking skills and achieving their goals, whatever they may be.
I am comfortable with teaching English because many of my French speaking friends come to me for help and/or advice on translations, cover letters, important paperwork, or simply to practice for when they travel abroad or have to do an English-speaking interview for a job.

Here's what I can offer you:
- English conversation for all ages and all levels where my goal is to exchange with you in a natural, easy-going way. I want to provide a safe, judgment-free space to help you gain more confidence with your speaking skills, whether it be in a professional setting or in your everyday life. Here, we just want to have fun in experiencing what it is to talk, think, express ourselves in a different language.
- Help with English and/or French writing exercises (document translations, cover letters, CVs, etc.): let your creativity flow while taking care of your presentation.
This is not a definitive and thorough list.
I adjust my classes to my students and pay particular attention to their needs and preferences.
By offering a range of activities and tools, we build our classes together in order to make progress towards the goals we set in the beginning of the sessions.
