About Deep
Ever tried explaining a neural network to someone and watched their eyes glaze over? I get it. AI can feel intimidating — until it doesn't.
I'm Deep, and I've spent 7 years turning complex AI concepts into "oh, that actually makes sense" moments.
By day, I'm a Casual Academic Tutor at UTS Sydney, teaching Deep Learning and CNNs to Masters students. By night (and weekends), I build AI systems that solve real problems — from voice assistants for hospitals to computer vision models that detect road damage. I've also shipped mobile apps used by over 1M+ people, which taught me that the best tech is the kind people actually understand and use.

- Winner, UTS AI Techfest 2025 — ACS Best Choice Award
- Founded and sold an EdTech startup
- Currently running my own AI consultancy in Sydney
But here's what really drives me: I love the moment when something clicks. When a teenager writes their first working Python program and can't stop grinning. When a stressed uni student finally understands backpropagation at 11pm the night before their exam. When a career-changer realizes they can actually do this.
I've been the confused student before. I know what it's like to stare at code that makes zero sense. That's exactly why I teach the way I do — with patience, without jargon, and always with a real project to make it stick.
No question is too basic. No goal is too ambitious.

My Teaching Approach
I believe the best way to learn AI isn't through theory alone — it's by building. My lessons are project-driven, meaning every concept we cover gets applied to a real problem. Whether it's training your first CNN or debugging a computer vision pipeline, you'll leave each session with something tangible you've created yourself.
I start by understanding where you are and where you want to be. From there, I tailor each lesson to your goals — whether that's acing an assignment, understanding a tricky concept, or building a portfolio project. I break down complex topics into digestible steps and always connect the "why" behind each technique, not just the "how."
Lesson Structure
Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes, which gives us enough time to cover theory, work through code together, and leave room for questions. I'm flexible with scheduling and happy to adjust lesson length based on your needs.
My Background
I'm Deep — a UTS Masters graduate (Dean's List), award-winning AI developer with 7 years of experience, and current Casual Academic Tutor at UTS where I teach Deep Learning and Image Processing to postgraduate students. I've built AI systems deployed in production, developed apps reaching 1M+ users, and won the UTS AI Techfest 2025 ACS Best Choice Award. I bring both academic rigour and real-world industry experience to every lesson.
