About Hello

Hello! I’m an award-winning nurse educator, Registered Nurse, Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA) and doctoral researcher, with a passion for helping nursing and healthcare students develop their confidence and achieve their academic potential.

In 2026, I was incredibly proud to be named Educator of the Year at the Student Nursing Times Awards, recognising my work supporting and educating student nurses.

My academic background includes a BSc in Adult Nursing and a Master of Public Health (MPH), alongside a teaching qualification and Fellowship of Advance HE. I am currently working towards my doctorate, which means I remain actively involved in research and understand first-hand both the challenges and rewards of postgraduate study.

Alongside my academic experience, my background as a Registered Nurse means I understand the realities of healthcare education and clinical practice. I appreciate that many nursing and healthcare students are balancing university work with placements, employment, family commitments and other pressures.

As an educator, I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, discussing areas they find difficult and developing their skills without judgement.

Whether you are an undergraduate nursing student encountering research for the first time, a qualified healthcare professional returning to university, or a postgraduate student working towards a Master's-level qualification, I will meet you at your current level and help you move forward.

My goal is not simply to help you with the piece of work in front of you, but to help you develop the confidence, academic skills and understanding that you can carry forward throughout your studies and professional career.

Hello! I’m an award-winning nurse educator, UK Registered Nurse, Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA) and doctoral researcher. I was named Educator of the Year at the Student Nursing Times Awards 2026 and hold a BSc in Adult Nursing, a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a teaching qualification.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive and tailored to you. I understand that subjects such as research methods, critical appraisal, evidence-based practice and academic writing can sometimes feel overwhelming. My aim is to make complex ideas feel manageable by breaking them down into clear, practical steps and explaining them in a way that makes sense to you.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are shaped around your individual needs and goals. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we will start by identifying where you are, what you need to achieve and the areas where you would most benefit from support.

I can provide support with areas including:

* Nursing and healthcare studies
* Public health
* Research methods
* Qualitative and quantitative research
* Critical appraisal
* Evidence-based practice
* Literature searching and reviewing
* Academic writing and critical thinking
* Dissertation and research project development
* Postgraduate study skills
* Preparing for presentations and academic discussions

My philosophy is to teach rather than simply tell. If you are working on an assignment, dissertation or research project, I will help you understand the concepts, develop your ideas, strengthen your critical thinking and build the skills to produce your own work confidently and independently.

As an award-winning educator and Fellow of Advance HE, I bring substantial experience of teaching and supporting learners in higher education. Alongside my teaching expertise, my background as a Registered Nurse, my Master of Public Health and my current doctoral research allow me to bring together clinical practice, public health, education and research.

My lessons are particularly suited to undergraduate and postgraduate nursing, healthcare and public health students, as well as qualified nurses and other healthcare professionals returning to university or undertaking further academic study.

Whether you are struggling to understand research methods, feeling stuck with critical appraisal, returning to academic study after a long break, developing a dissertation or simply wanting to improve your academic confidence, we can work together at a pace that suits you.

Most importantly, my sessions are a supportive space where there is no such thing as a silly question! You do not need to arrive already understanding the terminology or knowing exactly what help you need. We can start from where you are, identify what is getting in your way and work towards helping you become a more confident and independent learner.
