About Sarah
I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. in Child Psychology and a B.A. in Creative Writing. I moved to New York after college to pursue a career in writing. I am currently getting my M.F.A. in Creative Writing. I am working on a collection of short stories as well. Two of the stories from the collection have been published and I won the Jerome Lowell DeJur Prize for Fiction for the draft of the collection. On top of honing my writing skills, I also work in childcare. I have been a nanny, rock climbing coaching, kindergarten teacher and camp counselor. My love for writing is matched by my love for working with children. I am always trying to bring those two skills and passions together!

My teaching method involves listening to the student as much as they listen to me. I take the time to figure out what they respond to best. I create games for students that need something more visual and interactive and give detailed notes and guidance to those that need more direction. What sets me apart from other tutors is my patience and creativity with my lesson plans. I specialize in teaching children in grades k-4th but also have experience teaching older children.
