About Carmen

Hi, I’m Carmen — a Malaysian-born language enthusiast with a passion for helping people find their voice in English.

My background might surprise you: I hold a Bachelor of Laws, which means I’ve spent years navigating complex language with precision and clarity. That love of words naturally led me to teaching, where I get to do something even more rewarding — help real people communicate with confidence in their everyday lives.

I’ve been tutoring casually for some time, and what I’ve come to cherish most is the human side of it. Every student carries a unique story, a different reason for wanting to learn, and I find that endlessly fascinating. Getting to know the person behind the lesson is just as important to me as the lesson itself.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to polish what you already know, I’d love to be part of your journey.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed around you — your goals, your pace, and your confidence. I create a calm, welcoming space where learning feels natural, not intimidating, so you can focus on actually speaking rather than worrying about making mistakes.
I’m passionate about the English language and equally passionate about the people I teach. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your fluency, and regardless of your age or background, you’ll find lessons that are thoughtful, encouraging, and genuinely enjoyable.
