My approach to teaching is simple- identify and cater to the student’s learning style, and make sure they are confident with their basics. Every student will have a different way of learning, and my aim is to make lessons as fun and as interesting as possible so the content of the lesson sticks. For any subject, having a solid understanding of the basics is important, once you get your basics down, everything else is as easy as ABC. I had great teachers that made me love these subjects, and I hope I can do the same for someone else.
For students under the age of 15, I do not recommend classes that are more than 1 hour long, as anything past an hour would affect their concentration. For students doing their GCSE’s and A Levels, 1.5 - 2 hour classes would be ideal.
I have a degree in Computer Science, and completed many Algebra, and Calculus units as part of my degree, as well as a Band 9 for IELTS with nothing less than a Band 8 for each section.
With over 1.5 years of online teaching experience in Computer Science at KS3, GCSE and A Level, Math at KS3, GCSE, A Level and SAT level and English for IELTS, I find that online tutoring works best for students who are above the age of 13. However, I have helped and am open to help students of all ages, at any level.
As someone who worked their way up to University Maths, from the bottom set at KS3, I believe that every student is capable of achieving their goals with the right guidance.
