About Martin

Hello! My name is Martin, but my friends call me Marty, and I bring 15+ years of experience in both academic research and professional programming. My journey began as web developer out of high-school. I returned to school, eventually becoming a Research Assistant at the University of Alberta's AI lab, where I gained hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and developed state of the art machine learning and data analysis technology. Since then, I've worked in the industry as a programmer, tackling real-world challenges, have been assigned three patents for computer vision systems, and generally honing a versatile skill set.

I’m deeply committed to helping students not only understand their course material but also build the confidence they need to excel. My approach is rooted in professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for seeing others succeed. Each lesson is tailored to meet individual learning goals, ensuring that every session is both effective and engaging.

My goal is to make sure you not only succeed but also find joy in the learning process.

About the lesson

With extensive experience as both a Research Assistant in the University of Alberta's AI lab and as a seasoned industry programmer, I am well-equipped to help you succeed in virtually any area of Computer Science. My background spans Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, and Physics, alongside a wealth of programming languages and technologies.

As a polyglot developer, I’m skilled in C, C++, Python, Java, Kotlin, SQL, Linux/Shell scripting, and a variety of web technologies, including PHP, HTML, React, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript. Whether you need support with course material or are self-studying to enhance your skills, I can provide customized lessons to reinforce key concepts and build your expertise in areas of interest.
