About Kiara
I am a bilingual French-English student currently in my first year of medicine at the University of St Andrews. I have always had a passion for progress and personal development and wish to continue using my linguistic skills, which is what drove me to offer tutoring lessons in French and English language. I have recently completed the International Baccalaureate with an overall score of 39/45 points (including a 7 in English language and literature - the maximum score). I have been schooled in both England and France and have also received my 'Diplôme National du Brevet' (French equivalent to GCSEs) with an overall score of 18/20. Officially, I have only ever tutored one GCSE-level student in French, helping her move to top set French, but have also unofficially helped numerous friends in these subjects and have helped my sister through both GCSEs and A-levels.

I believe that an individual learns best when they enjoy what they are learning and, equally importantly, how they are learning. This is why I try to adapt my teaching methods to what works best for the particular student and tailor the learning experience to their needs. I find that students often learn best when lessons are interactive and entertaining, so I often relate the content to real-life interests and include a lot of participation. I am adamant that practice and understanding are the key components to success, so this is a major focus in my lessons.
