About Marta
After spending two of my high school years in the UK, where I did struggle to make a group of friends and to understand my classmates and teachers at school, I realised how frustrating and difficult it was to build relationships with people when there's a language barrier. I worked hard to learn the language and eventually started speaking it fluently. Therefore, when I came back to Spain at the age of 15, I started working as a private English teacher for families (both kids and parents).
When I finished high school, I moved to Scotland to complete my Education degree where I became fully bilingual thanks to studying and working in English. During summers, I worked for a Summer Language School in Spain where I taught both, English and Spanish.
After uni, I received my Master of Arts in Education Diploma and started my job as a Primary Class Teacher in Edinburgh (UK). Here, I gained valuable experience in teaching primary age children and learned how to teach the language from scratch to English-Speaking students

My main aim when teaching a language is to build a sense of purpose with my students. In order to achieve this, I tend to make my lessons fun, engaging and real-life related. I want to make my students feel like their learning has a meaning and will be a useful tool in their day-to day life.
You will engage in a lot of conversation, learn the formal and informal ways of using the language, experience different real-life situations in which you will have to use certain words and vocabulary, etc.
