About Jess
I’m a native English speaker from the United States and have spent years teaching languages to students of all levels and ages. Most recently, I taught beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes to adult learners in rural Guatemala. I’ve also taught online, and some of my students have told me that they learned more in one class with me than in years of formal study!

As a language learner myself, I know how frustrating it is to read boring textbooks in class, only to realize that, when it comes time to actually put your language skills to use, you can’t! I’ve been in your shoes, and I’m here to make learning engaging and practical—grounded in real-world examples about topics that you actually care about. We learn grammar, but we also apply it to a real-world context and practice creating sentences and making conversation. I strive to create a warm environment where mistakes are welcomed as part of the process!
