About Amelia
I am half Italian and half British. I grew up in Italy and moved to the UK for university. I have been teaching English to Italian children since I was 14 years old and, when I moved to the UK, I tutored English-speaking adults to learn Italian. These experiences have given me a varied perspective on teaching: from children to adults and from Italian to English and viceversa.

My priority is to suit my students’ needs and interests. For those who are new to Italian, I like to start with some basic grammar, but I encourage my students to practice real-life conversations early on. This enables them to have confidence to entertain simple dialogues and subsequently progress to more complex and refined language. For intermediate students, I offer conversation practice and exercises to strengthen grammar. I am also very passionate about art and literature, so more advanced students may enjoy guidance to read original works from Italian authors, such as Dante Alighieri and Italo Calvino.
