About Rubie
Hola! My name is Rubie and I'm a bilingual teacher. I've been teaching for over eight years and am certified through sixth grade in all subjects. I'm also certified to teach Spanish through twelfth grade. I offer one-on-one Spanish tutoring for kiddos who need to strengthen their Spanish skills, whether as native speakers or second language learners. As a bilingual family, I get asked a lot how we keep the Spanish going in our home and this is an area I've become so passionate about helping! Over the years I've developed my own teaching methods and combined them with my favorite curriculums to create a fun and unique way of teaching in Spanish. My lessons and activities are fun and engaging tailored to your child's needs! I firmly believe in the power of bilingualism and do my utmost best to instill in my students a sense of pride, confidence, and empowerment about speaking Spanish.

Lessons are for kiddos age pre-kinder through fifth grade. Each student is assessed before beginning lessons so that I know exactly where to start and how to help him/her. Sessions are thirty minutes long and I use a combination of direct instruction, games, and reading books out loud to get students where they need to be. Regular progress monitoring and updates for parents are also provided. Time will fly by for your kiddos and they won't even realize they're learning!
