About Maai

About Me
Born and raised in Japan, I moved to Canada at just 14—on my own! It was tough, but those challenges shaped me into the strong, determined woman I am today.

I’m a Christian (which is rare in Japan!), so if you share the same beliefs, I’d be thrilled to connect on that level as we learn. My goal is to make every session inspiring, engaging, and tailored just for you.

Why Choose Me?

Language Made Simple: Native Japanese speaker fluent in English—perfect for beginners!
Tailored Lessons: We'll create your lesson plans together, so you learn exactly what you need in a way that works for you.
Passionate & Approachable: Whether you’re into medicine (like me!) or just need support with Japanese, math, or biology, I’m here to help.
Global Perspective: I visit the Dominican Republic every year to provide medical care in underserved areas, so I love discussing global health, culture, and dreams.
What I Teach

Japanese: From zero to conversational, learn the language and the culture.
Math & Biology: Ace your classes with fun, easy-to-understand lessons.
