About Leland
I am an experienced and dedicated singing tutor with over 7 years of teaching students from diverse backgrounds, including school children, college students, and working professionals. My focus is on helping students develop their vocal abilities, musical knowledge, and confidence in performing. I believe that learning to sing should be a fun and rewarding journey that inspires creativity and self-expression.
My teaching methodology is flexible, interactive, and student-centred. I teach essential vocal techniques such as pitch control, breath management, tone, and vocal projection. I also include music theory, rhythm, and sight-reading to provide a complete musical foundation. Performance skills, including expression, stage presence, and emotional connection, are emphasised to help students convey meaning and confidence through their singing.
I tailor lessons to each student’s needs and goals. Beginners are guided with patience and encouragement to build a solid foundation, while intermediate and advanced students are challenged to refine their techniques, prepare for performances, and overcome challenges such as stage anxiety or inconsistent practice. I also provide practical tips, structured exercises, and regular feedback to ensure steady progress.
I aim to create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment where students can explore their voice, enjoy the learning process, and achieve measurable improvement. My mission is to help students develop both technical skill and artistic expression while fostering a lifelong love for music and singing.

My teaching methodology for Singing is learner-focused and experience-based. I believe that singing becomes easier when students can relate techniques to real life, so I use real-life examples and case studies to explain vocal concepts through everyday voice use and real songs. I teach with empathy and understanding, helping students overcome nervousness and self-doubt.
My teaching approach is flexible, allowing lessons to be customised according to individual goals and progress. Clear communication helps students grasp techniques clearly, and I encourage open discussion during lessons. Using a problem-solving mindset, I help students identify and fix vocal issues through guided practice. Along with Singing, I also teach relevant subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm training, ear training, vocal care, and stage confidence.
