• 1) What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

  I started playing football from the age of 6, played for many Sunday grassroots clubs, when I was 13, I started to push myself and worked harder to be the best I could be beyond my idea of potential. When I was 15, I was scouted by a Brighton FC scout whilst playing in a cup game for school. I then went on to sign for Brighton FC academy for 2 years and then a 1 year pro contract.

• 2) What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

  After multiple injuries, I still play football at a lower level, I played a lot of cricket at school and snooker. I also enjoy motor sports and fishing. Being a rally driver or snooker player would of been my second option if it wasn’t for football.

• 3) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

  Football at a high level is now long overdue to past injuries, but it gave me the confidence and knowledge to become a full time football coach, And my passion has and always will be football, and I enjoy teaching the beloved sport to others who need that help with development and to become a version of themselves.

• 4) Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

  There has been many separate achievements in my football career, winning multiple man of the match awards, winning penalty shootouts in cup knockout games, but the biggest team achievement for me was scoring a last-minute header in a cup final. It beats everything.

• 5) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

  Achievements give me that sense of confidence, and confidence drives my self-esteem as I’m sure it does with a lot of players. Although, winning things such as matches or awards will always give that boost of confidence, but the true learning comes from failure. Winning is temporary, without failure such as making mistakes or losing games, you learn nothing. Failure has made me the better and stronger person on and off the pitch.

• 6) If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

  There are several people, I would probably choose a different athlete from every year of my life. When I was 10 years old, I would of chosen someone like Roy Keane or Paul Scholes, at 15/16, probably Mo Farah. Now in my 30's, I would probably run with business tycoons. I'd of asked them questions such as how do you deal with pressure, what can make me stand out compared to my peers, what do I need to do to make it the top level, How do I increase my fitness, what do I need to do to stay focused.

• 7) How do you help people stay motivated?

  Motivation is offered from encouragement mostly but making sure I show the player I coach that I care about their development. Drills, practices can be explored through training with small player focused goals and challenges. Big tasks are broken down, support is given to the highest level along with positive reinforcement.

• 8) What makes you a Superprof in sports?

  I'm a Superprof because of my playing experience and coaching experience. I have played the game enough to know the ins and outs of football, I have took on board and acquired knowledge of high level footballers, coaches and managers utilising that knowledge and giving myself the freedom and confidence to coach footballers of all abilities, to help and develop them to become better and more efficient athletes.
