About Lou
I am a passionate piano tutor with 9 years of teaching experience, helping students from school, college, and professional backgrounds improve their musical skills. I believe learning piano should be both structured and enjoyable, allowing students to build technical skills while expressing themselves creatively.
My teaching approach focuses on clarity, patience, and personalised guidance. I design lessons that strengthen fundamentals such as finger technique, rhythm, sight-reading, and hand coordination, while gradually introducing advanced skills. I also teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to give students a complete musical foundation.
I incorporate song-based learning, improvisation, and practical exercises to keep lessons engaging and fun. My strength is breaking down complex topics into simple, understandable steps. I help students build confidence, consistency, and disciplined practice habits. My aim is to create a supportive, inspiring, and motivating environment where students can thrive and enjoy their musical journey.

Creativity is central to my approach. Students are encouraged to improvise, compose, and explore various musical styles, helping them develop originality, confidence, and self-expression. Flexibility ensures lessons are tailored to the student’s pace, skill level, and learning preferences, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This methodology strengthens technical mastery, expressive skills, and musical understanding. My aim is to cultivate confident, creative, and lifelong musicians.
