About Lourenco
My name is Lourenco, and I am an 18-year-old undergraduate studying History and French at the University of Bristol. Having recently completed my A-levels in Edexcel History, Politics, and Economics, I understand both the challenges students face and the techniques needed to succeed academically.
I achieved Grade 9s in GCSE English and History, as well as full marks in my A-level History coursework. Over the past year, I have tutored students studying AQA and Edexcel GCSE English Language, English Literature, and History, helping students improve significantly in their grades, including supporting one student in progressing from a Grade 2 to a Grade 6 in English Literature, while others have gone on to achieve Grade 9s.
I am passionate about history, literature, and current affairs, and I aim to inspire the same enthusiasm in my students. My lessons encourage students to consider different perspectives, engage in discussion and debate, and develop the analytical skills necessary to excel in exams. I firmly believe that understanding the wider context behind historical events and literary texts not only improves academic performance but also helps students better understand the world around them.
As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and professional learning environment in which students feel confident asking questions, challenging ideas, and developing their own informed opinions.

I specialise in the Cold War, Very familiar with the Edexcel GCSE course, would be willing to tutor other exam boards depending on what aspects of history they are focusing on. Would help with essay and general understanding of the subject.
