About Mckenzie
With experience across multiple grade levels, I bring a well-rounded, practical understanding of how children learn and grow at different stages. I began my teaching journey in Kindergarten (2019–2020), building strong foundations in early literacy, math readiness, and classroom structure. I then moved into 5th grade (2020–2021), where I supported students in developing deeper critical thinking, independence, and academic responsibility.
From 2021–2023, I taught 4th grade, strengthening my expertise in upper elementary standards, test preparation, and helping students make meaningful academic growth. I transitioned to 2nd grade (2023–2024), where I refined my skills in early reading intervention, phonics instruction, and small-group differentiation. I returned to 4th grade for the 2024–2025 year, continuing to support students in bridging foundational skills with higher-level thinking.
Across every grade level, I have consistently focused on meeting students where they are and helping them move forward with confidence. I understand how to identify learning gaps, build strong foundational skills, and make learning approachable and engaging.
As a tutor, I bring patience, structure, and proven instructional strategies that are tailored to each child’s needs. Families can feel confident knowing I am experienced, adaptable, and committed to student success. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to build independence, confidence, and a positive mindset toward learning that lasts beyond tutoring sessions.

Hi! My name is Ms. Brown, and I am a K–6 certified teacher with experience supporting elementary students in all general education subjects, including reading, phonics, writing, math, science, and social studies. I specialize in creating engaging, personalized lessons that meet students where they are and help them build confidence and strong academic skills. I have experience with several intervention programs and other small group instruction to support struggling readers and strengthen foundational math skills.
Whether your child needs tutoring for extra support, homework help, summer learning, or enrichment, I provide a positive, encouraging environment where students feel successful, supported, and excited to learn.
