About Riya
Hi, my name is Riya and I currently work in the NHS as an Assistant Psychologist (18+ months experience). I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Early Intervention in Psychosis. I recently published a systematic review in an academic journal, which strengthened my skills in research, critical thinking, and academic writing. I’m passionate about supporting students in psychology and related fields. As a tutor, I aim to create a relaxed, collaborative space where you can bring questions, explore ideas, and build confidence. I can help with understanding psychological concepts, planning or structuring essays, developing research skills, and improving academic writing. My approach is supportive and tailored - whether you need help breaking down complex theories, preparing for exams, or navigating research methods and statistics, I’ll work with you at a pace that suits you. I teach psychology for all levels (School, undergrad, masters). I use a person-centered approach in my teaching, helping students learn their study material in ways they prefer. I help them by teaching concepts and explaining theories, and techniques to improve academic writing. I have gained these skills through university and work experience.
