About Lily
I am a dedicated flute tutor with 6 years of experience and nearly 150 students successfully trained across various levels. I teach beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners with a focus on building strong fundamentals and lasting confidence. My lessons emphasise breath control, posture, embouchure formation, tone clarity, articulation, and finger coordination.
I believe that mastering these basics creates a smooth path towards advanced techniques and expressive playing. I design personalised lesson plans based on each student’s goals and learning speed, ensuring consistent and measurable progress. I also guide students on effective practice strategies to improve efficiently outside class.
My unique strength lies in my patient teaching style and my ability to explain complex techniques in simple steps. I maintain a positive yet disciplined learning environment where students feel motivated and supported. My goal is to develop technically sound, expressive, and confident flute players who enjoy their musical growth.

My teaching methodology for flute emphasises confidence, consistency, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I believe that steady progress comes from structured practice, individualised guidance, and a supportive learning environment.
Lessons focus on core techniques such as breath control, posture, embouchure, tone clarity, and finger accuracy. I provide exercises for scales, rhythm, articulation, and expressive phrasing, helping students improve step by step. Advanced learners explore dynamics, musical interpretation, and stylistic performance.
Alongside flute instruction, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm comprehension. This integrated approach helps students develop both practical skill and musical understanding.
Flexibility allows me to adapt lessons to each student’s goals, pace, and learning style. Collaboration is encouraged through interactive discussions, repertoire choices, and goal-setting.
I maintain a positive and motivating environment where mistakes are learning opportunities. My aim is to develop confident, disciplined, and expressive flute players with a lifelong love for music.
