About Osman
Hello! My name is Osman, and I’m a Canadian-based professional, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner with an MBA, CPA, and CMA, and more than 15 years of experience working across finance, healthcare, education, and government.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with people from many different backgrounds and have developed a strong appreciation for the importance of clear, confident communication. I’ve also had the opportunity to live, work, travel, and interact with people from different cultures, which has helped me understand that learning English is about much more than grammar—it’s about feeling comfortable expressing yourself.
As a tutor, I’m friendly, patient, and encouraging. I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes because mistakes are a natural and important part of learning. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where you can practice speaking, ask questions, and gradually build your confidence.
I particularly enjoy helping students improve their conversational and professional English. Whether you want to feel more confident speaking with colleagues, prepare for an interview, communicate while traveling, succeed in an academic environment, or simply become more comfortable having everyday conversations, I will tailor our lessons to your goals.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy traveling, exploring different cultures, learning languages, spending time in nature, and learning about health and wellness. I bring this curiosity into my lessons and enjoy using real-world topics to make English learning interesting and relevant.
Most importantly, I believe learning should be enjoyable. I’m here to help you improve your English, but also to help you develop the confidence to use it in the real world.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your English-learning journey!

My Approach as an English Tutor
Teaching Methodology and Techniques
My approach is practical, conversational, and student-centred. I believe the best way to learn English is to use it in situations that are meaningful and relevant to the student’s life.
I combine conversation practice, vocabulary building, pronunciation, grammar, reading, and listening exercises rather than relying solely on traditional textbook-based teaching. I encourage students to speak as much as possible during lessons and create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
I also adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs, learning pace, interests, and goals. For example, a student preparing for a job interview may benefit from role-playing and professional vocabulary, while someone preparing for travel may benefit more from everyday conversation and practical scenarios.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical 60-minute lesson may include:
1. Warm-up and conversation – 10 minutes
We begin with informal conversation about the student’s week, interests, work, studies, or current events. This helps build confidence and allows me to identify areas that need improvement.
2. Lesson focus – 15 minutes
We introduce a specific topic, such as pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, or a communication skill.
3. Practical application – 20 minutes
The student applies what they have learned through conversation, role-play, reading, problem-solving, or other real-life exercises.
4. Feedback and correction – 10 minutes
I provide constructive feedback on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency while highlighting what the student is already doing well.
5. Review and next steps – 5 minutes
We review the key takeaways and identify a simple activity or practice exercise the student can complete before the next lesson.
The structure is flexible and can be adjusted depending on the student’s level and objectives.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
I bring a combination of professional experience, international exposure, and a strong focus on communication and confidence.
As a CPA and MBA with more than 15 years of experience working in finance, healthcare, education, and government, I have extensive experience communicating with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds. I understand that knowing English academically is very different from feeling confident using it in a workplace, interview, presentation, meeting, or everyday conversation.
I therefore focus not only on correct English, but also on helping students communicate clearly, naturally, and confidently.
I am patient, approachable, and adaptable. I aim to create an environment where students do not feel embarrassed about making mistakes. Instead, mistakes become opportunities to improve.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are particularly suitable for:
* Adult learners and university students
* Beginner to advanced English learners
* Students who want to improve their speaking and conversational English
* Professionals looking to improve workplace and business English
* Students preparing for job interviews, presentations, meetings, or professional communication
* International students who want to become more comfortable communicating in Canada or other English-speaking environments
* People preparing for travel or relocation
* Learners who understand English reasonably well but lack confidence speaking it
* Students who prefer a practical, conversational approach rather than a purely academic one
I am also happy to tailor lessons around a student’s specific interests, profession, academic field, or personal goals.
Ultimately, my goal is to help students move from “I know English” to “I feel confident using English.”
