About Hayley

I have been unofficially teaching English and editing papers for the last eight years. Officially, I began tutoring in late 2016. I taught private lessons to 4 students and assisted in larger classrooms. After studying with me, one of my students received better grades in his English class while another student's conversational skills improved drastically. By working with me, these two particular students were able to improve their English skills and feel more confident and more fluent.

About the lesson

A TEFL certified graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, I have experience teaching English to various ages, primarily from intermediate to advanced levels. A believer of the “communicative approach” and “direct method,” my classes are solely in English, immersing students and increasing their understanding more quickly, focusing on conversation as a tool to gain fluency. I utilize authentic materials and grammar/ vocabulary worksheets to increase and improve students’ knowledge. I am a native speaker who can teach proper grammatical structures, everyday phrases, and cultural communication skills. I have written countless essays in English and love assisting students with reading comprehension and writing.
