About Lulu

I have a First Class undergraduate degree and Distinction grade Masters in English Literature, both from the University of Cambridge. Prior to university, I was an Academic Scholar at the Lady Eleanor Holles School, before attending Westminster School. I have been a private tutor for 7 years, teaching all aspects of the 11+ exam, and English specifically for GCSE, A Level and university entrance prep. I also spent a year as a teaching assistant at a primary school, helping specifically with Maths, English, VR and NVR at Year 5 & 6 level. I am DBS checked, with an EduCare qualification in Child Protection in Education.

About the lesson

I tutor 11 plus, GCSE, A Level and Oxbridge entrance prep. I specialise in English tutoring, however I have extensive experience helping children through the 11 plus process as a whole, including English, Maths, VR and non-VR, from my job as a primary school teaching assistant. I also offer Oxbridge entrance test and interview prep for English Literature. I like to offer focused, feedback-intense lessons with an emphasis on encouraging pupil input. I tailor every lesson and create detailed learning schedules which reflect each student's individual needs. I also have a vast bank of my own resources which I provide for my students.

Deadly! Lulu is an excellent tutor, and she has been helping my son prepare for the GCSE English exam. Her lessons are highly structured, and she demonstrates both patience and proactiveness in preparing for each session. She tailors her teaching to my son's needs, and my son finds her lessons both engaging and enjoyable. They have helped him build more confidence in the subject. Highly recommend!
