About Jamie
I’m a graduate from Cambridge University with a Double First-Class degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences. Whilst at Cambridge, I also studied English Literature.
My teaching centres on emphasising positivity, encouraging excitement and focusing on my students’ strengths – whether they are looking to improve beyond a Grade 1 at GCSE or are an A* A-Level student interested in going to Oxbridge. I love to help students of all abilities discover their passion for their studies. By tailoring my lessons for each student, I focus on fostering independent thinking and learning.
In particular, I help my students to improve their essay writing skills, enhance their critical thinking, boost their ability to analyse texts, and achieve outstanding exam results. These skills are crucial for English, History and Politics from GCSE to university level. For university admissions, I use my experience as a mentor to make students into the best applicants they can be.
As an undergraduate, I consistently achieved First class grades in English Literature and the social sciences, receiving multiple scholarships. I was Highly Commended in Peterhouse’s Year 12 Thomas Campion Essay Prize in English. I achieved A*s in English and History at A-Level.

My lessons are friendly spaces where my students are encouraged to exceed their expectations. They're for anyone 14 and older studying for their GCSEs, A-Levels or for university admissions. Each lesson is online and is an hour long.
I start my sessions by finding out about my students’ levels of ability, goals, and interests. I also ask whether there are specific areas to work on. Because every person learns in their own way, I tailor my teaching to each student – finding out what their strengths are, what needs improvement, and how we can achieve their aims.
I provide skill-based exercises intended to push my students and monitor their progress through regular tasks. Depending on the goal at hand, I provide a variety of tutorials, assignments and homework. I’m also very happy to look at coursework. I have a range of tips and tricks to help everyone learn more effectively and gain the skills they need to succeed. Often, this means focusing on practice, acing exam criteria, and going beyond the confines of the curriculum.
