About Holly

I recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in History, having studied a broad spectrum of historical periods. These included, but are not limited to, early modern Europe (including the Réformation and Renaissance); early modern Britain; and world history from 1400-1900. I am now studying for an MPhil in World History, specialising in post-imperial and Southern African liberation histories.

I have over three years of experience as a tutor, teaching children in English, Maths, and History, from ages 4 to 19.

About the lesson

I approach every topic according to each child’s individual needs, catering to a wide variety of learning styles. As such, my teaching methodology varies from pupil to pupil, but at its core prioritises cultivating enthusiasm for learning while providing a reliable and focused working environment.

As I started out my journey in Explore Learning, Holly was a great help to me. Having a number of years experience in tutoring Maths, English and the 11+, Holly was able to give me guidance on how to approach these subjects for a wide number of age ranges and capabilities. I also experienced her ability to carry out tutoring in these subjects. She is kind and friendly both in a professional and personal capacity, able to explain things well and with a real passion for learning.
