About Benjamin
Born and raised in North Wales, I set off for England and Cambridge back in 2018 and haven't quite been able to escape since. At the University of Cambridge I earned a First Class honours BA in History, then went on to gain a Master's in Medieval History with a high distinction. I'm now a PhD candidate at Cambridge, having started full-time research this October. I'm incredibly enthusiastic about my subject, and look above all else to try to convey some of that enthusiasm to whoever I'm teaching, giving them the confidence and skills to take things further themselves.

Whether you need a history tutor, or help with academic writing and examination techniques, I can offer help, support, and instruction. As a history PhD candidate who's come all the way up through the system through English and History GCSEs and IB qualifications, followed by a History BA and MPhil, I'm very familiar with the difficulties and stumbling blocks which students at all levels might encounter and need some help with in their studies. I've looked at education from both sides! No two students' problems are the same, and our first session would look to work out exactly what your specific needs might be, and how I might be able to help with them. For some, this might take the form of help in learning and clarifying the content of their courses, but I am also able to help with essay-writing and structure, and exam technique. My specialist areas in History are the European medieval and early modern periods, but I also have several years of experience in twentieth-century history: the Second World War and Cold War. I can offer tutoring aimed specifically at helping students at GCSE and A-level across a range of syllabi, as well as undergraduate students. I'm also able to provide teaching towards university and school entrance exams, as well as for adults interested in lifelong learning -- just get in touch and I'll see if I can help!
