About Holly
Hi! I'm Holly. I've just completed my third and final year of my Psychology degree at the University of Durham. Next year, I will complete a Masters at the University of Cambridge. I achieved 10 A*/A at GCSE, with just under 100% in Maths. In my A-Levels I achieved A*AA, and in the first and second years my degree I was awarded a first class honours.
I started tutoring students earlier this year, supporting 4 GCSE and A-Level students in Maths and Psychology. This allowed me to discover my love of teaching and I have wanted to tutor privately ever since.
I have been in the fortunate position of not only being a Maths tutor, but also a tutee. My experience from both positions allows me to better understand what a student requires from a lesson and how to deliver it, giving them the best chance possible at success.
My psychology degree is extensive and encompasses several aspects of Maths, including statistical analysis and coding. This, combined with my high A-Level and GCSE grades, has led to my knowledge of both Maths and Psychology. I am also able to tutor Psychology if needed.
Aside from studying, I enjoy art and design, cooking and hosting dinner parties! I am also a keen swimmer and runner who regularly enters charity fundraising events.

I base my teaching around the student, particularly their age/year group and their goals. Typically, I organise my lessons by topic. In the first half of the lesson, I teach the topic and share my notes. In the second half of the lesson, I administer targeted questions, share mark schemes, and provide exam advice.
