About Shanti
With the right help everyone is able to achieve the highest grades and do whatever they set their minds to. With my tutoring and mentoring, I can help you make your dreams into a reality: transforming 6s to 9s and helping you to get a stellar personal statement, and get into top universities such as Oxford and Cambridge. Having gone through the process myself, I know all the tips and tricks to help you impress interviewers and examiners. Hi, I’m Shanti. I'm about to start a PhD in English Literature at the University of Cambridge, after having spent a year in Oxford, reading for an MSt in English. Before my masters, I was employed by the British Council as an ELA, teaching English to Secondary School Students in France. I completed my undergrad at UCL, my results scoring within the top 5 of my cohort. I recently passed my DALF C1 award in French. I am an Italian native speaker. I specialise in GCSE tuition, especially English, History and Modern Languages. Having achieved 11A*s and 1A at GCSE, I know what examiners look for when marking exams, which is an essential skill needed for exam success. In our sessions I can provide targeted advice to ensure that all the assessment objectives are being hit to maximise exam success. As a tutor I can: • Help you catch up with missed lessons to make sure you don't fall behind. • Allow you to regain confidence. • Provide extra support if you are feeling overwhelmed by the course or you think your class is going too fast. • Help you understand difficult concepts, grammar rules or topics • For French or Italian provide speaking practice. • Provide help with personal statements, entry tests, mock interviews and offer general advice for university admissions. • Provide extension classes to help you get ahead of your class and ace entrance exams and interviews. Whatever your age, ability or background, I will tailor my lessons to fit your individual needs. Before each lesson, I will let you know exactly what we will be covering, so if you have anything you want to focus on, I can adjust my lessons accordingly.
