About Tilly

I have won and broke to the finals of multiple university and schools debating competitions, both in and outside my time as a reserve member of the National English debate team, written essays that have attained funding and scholarships from my university, and tutored students + clients of all ages extensively. My work has also involved delivering media strategy to high profile clients preparing for hostile television appearances.

About the lesson

Depending on the student's preferred focus, lessons will look very different. In particular, please drop me a message if you are interested in Oxbridge tutoring for humanities where I can provide more details about what that may entail and where the student is best suited. Beyond Oxbridge admissions coaching, I offer English Literature and Religious Studies A-Level tutoring, Sociology + Politics tutoring and debate coaching.

I find the most effective method for tutoring is a replication of the tutoring style I experienced at Cambridge, which involves Socratic-style teaching and lectures. I teach a distinct style of note-taking unique to debaters (a transferable technique useful for revision) and ask students, if their schedules permit, for regular essay plans or debate cases where applicable, with a focus on structure and coherence.
