About Heather
I am a dedicated flute tutor with 10 years of teaching experience, having successfully taught around 150 students. I work with learners of all levels and help them build strong musical foundations.
My teaching method focuses on communication, patience, and flexibility. I adapt my lessons based on each student’s learning speed and goals. I emphasize fundamentals such as breathing techniques, fingering, tone production, and rhythm.
I include creative exercises and songs in my lessons to make learning engaging and enjoyable. This helps students stay motivated and consistent.
My strength is guiding students step by step and helping them overcome challenges. I also teach basic music theory to support overall development. My goal is to make flute learning simple and effective.

My flute teaching methodology is built on adapting to each student’s unique learning style while maintaining flexibility, encouraging collaboration, and creating a positive learning environment. I begin by understanding the student’s goals and strengths, then design lessons that suit their pace and preferences.
I focus on essential flute techniques such as breath control, tone quality, posture, and finger coordination, ensuring a strong foundation. I keep my teaching flexible, adjusting lessons as the student progresses, so learning remains comfortable and effective. Collaboration is encouraged through interactive sessions, where students actively participate and share ideas.
I maintain a supportive and motivating atmosphere where students feel confident to explore and improve. In addition to flute, I also teach music theory, rhythm, and ear training to help students develop complete musical understanding.
