About Imogen

Firstly, a bit of a background on me! I am a student currently studying a Law And Politics (LLB) degree at Cardiff University, I have recently moved to a place called Oakdale after purchasing my first home with my partner! I have quite an academic background and attained a number of impressive grades during my time in previous education. I have great experience in the subject of law, I attained an A* in Law at college and I am of course also studying law now at university which is hugely expanding my current knowledge! My main focuses within Law have been on criminal law, civil law and contract law but I also have the knowledge to tutor my students in additional areas and I am also able to do lessons on understanding the Latin terms!

I believe I would be a suitable tutor for someone as I have a lot of experience within the law subject, and some of the challenging issues that come alongside studying this such as the complexed essays, Latin terms, case notes, applying the law, analysing responses to cases and much more! I am able to teach anyone currently studying law up to a-level students!

I have experience teaching, despite my age. I have helped teach my autistic brother who struggled academically during his education. I am also currently working as an on-call supply teacher/ learning support so have relevant experience. You can rest assured that students will be in safe hands as I have an enhanced DBS check and I am registered with the EWC (education workforce council)!

About the lesson

My teaching method is to be open and honest with my students. I will engage with learners during our lessons to ensure that they are comfortable with the tasks at hand, and to make sure they know I am available to address anything they need help with! I also will provide a supportive learning environment whereby students can approach me at any time to ask for help, as well as attending lessons, I will be available for students to email at any time for additional support to make sure they are getting the most out of their tutoring.

I will also use a mixture of learning tools with the students, from revision techniques, essay plans, practise essay questions, quizzes and much more, to ensure that students are getting the best and most effective learning experience! I will provide students with access to resources for our lessons, and I will also provide them with powerpoints and anything else that is used during their session so they can revisit! Ongoing feedback will also be provided on tasks completed by students.
