About Syamaprasad
I am a carnatic violinist and violin tutor from Kerala. It is very easy to study Carnatic violin if we studying in the right manner and style. There is no age restrictions for play violin but we must practice our lessons.
1. First we learn how to sit with a violin and how to hold a violin and its bow.
2. Then we learn how to bow properly through all strings.
3. By practicing this properly we start the basics of fingering with Sapta Swaras.
4.By practicing Sapthaswaram we learn Varisai(Sarali Varisai, Dhatt Varisai, Jand Varisai etc) also Alankaras, which are the primary lessons for practice fingering and bowing.
5. Then we learn some different and simple Raga like Mayamalavagowla, Sankarabharanam, Kharaharapriya, Thodi.
And we learn these Varisas and Alankaras
in these Ragas.
6. By practicing the basics we start Geetham which is the basic composition of a Raga.
7. By practicing Geethams of different Ragas we learn GAMAKAS which is make
our music beautiful.
8.Then we will go to Varna which is an advanced composition of a Raga which contains the maximum beauty of a Raga.
9. Then we learn Keerthana which is the most advanced composition of a Raga.
