About Veronika
I'm an active student that volunteers and learns languages in her free time. I have taught both English and Latvian. I have taught English to my friend to prepare her for an exam which she passed for 25% better than we expected. I am teaching Latvian now, and my first student was a guy from Estonia. He has been training for some two months now and can already express himself in another language! My major is Arabic and I am particularly interested in the Middle East. I love dancing and trying out different styles. Right now I'm training in contemporary style. Studying a culture that is completely different from your own makes you appreciate your cultural heritage more. That's why I want to teach Latvian to others and share our traditions and everyday life.

I use both YouTube videos and textbooks made by the Ministry of Education. I typically start with an ice-breaker, so it would be time for you to shine and express your thoughts on a specific topic. During the lesson, we would go through vocabulary and try to use it on the spot. After, we would watch a video or go through a text that is connected with our theme. When we have completed all the tasks, we could do some self-reflection on how the lesson went. Grammar is also an important part of the lesson, and I pay great attention to it once it impacts our theme. I can help both students that are studying in Latvia and internationals that are only starting or want to upgrade their Latvian. I teach only levels lower than B2. Don't be scared of Latvian and start right away! Aiziet!
