About Abby
I am a college freshman focused on helping students build strong fundamentals, improve their technique, and gain confidence in their playing. My lessons are structured, supportive, and adapted to each student’s individual learning style and level.
I emphasize tone quality, rhythm, and musical understanding, while also helping students succeed in their school band music when applicable. My goal is to make progress feel clear, achievable, and encouraging.
I bring patience, professionalism, and a strong understanding of what young musicians need to grow. Lessons are best suited for beginner-to-intermediate flute students in middle school and early high school.

My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons encouraging and practical. I break concepts down into small, manageable steps so students don’t feel overwhelmed.
I combine:
-Skill-based instruction (tone, breath support, finger technique, rhythm)
-Demonstration + imitation (I play, then students immediately try it)
-Guided repetition to build muscle memory without boredom
-Positive correction (fixing mistakes in a way that builds confidence, not pressure)
-Goal-based learning, where each student works toward clear, achievable milestones (like learning a song or mastering a scale)
I also adapt quickly to how each student learns best—visually, by ear, or through structured written notes.
