About Dan
I have been playing the cello since I was 5 years old. I studied up to Masters Level in the UK and subsequently in the USA. My first professional experience was at 21 in the Phantom of the Opera in London, and since then, I’ve been playing extensively alongside my teaching. I love music, and would be delighted to pass some of that on to you.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, I’ve seen all sorts of students. Everyone is different, and I always enjoy discovering how best to teach every student. I am currently teaching at Sevenoaks School, Langley Park School for Boys and Saint Olaves Grammar School, and additionally on the Pro Corda chamber-music courses. This is alongside my extensive work as a performing cellist, which has included appearances at the BBC Proms, in the West End and with my String Quartet. In my time teaching, I have guided a number of students to Grade 8 distinctions and diplomas in the ABRSM system, but am just as proud of the students who reached a good Grade 6 while really enjoying every moment. Whether you’re looking for lessons online or in person, weekly or “just when I’ve time to practise”, I would be delighted to hear from you.
