• Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  I learned French in school and then decided to come and live in this wonderful country. I lived and worked in France, where I obtained a C2 certification, equivalent to a native speaker.

• Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  French cinema with Alain Delon and Brigitte Bardot has spread the charm of French culture throughout the world

• Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

  I really like the French's strength in getting what they want, even politically. The French rebel, they are strong-willed, and they don't accept chains.

• Why does speaking this language matter to you?

  I love speaking French, I love France and also French-speaking countries like Belgium and Switzerland. I find this language melodious and rich.

• What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  The most difficult thing about French is the grammar, which has its origins in Latin. It can be frustrating, especially for English speakers, but I want to tell them that it's not necessary to speak perfectly; the important thing is to be able to communicate.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

  It takes strong motivation; traveling to France is the first thing that can stimulate learning. My first trip was crucial for me.

• How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

  I did a language exchange in Belgium, which allowed me to get to know the university environment. I then decided to enroll at the university in Lille, which is very close to Belgium.

• What makes you a Superprof in language?

  I think I'm a Superprof because I'm so passionate about it. I love teaching and speaking languages. That's why I speak four languages! I want to make learning as easy as possible, focusing especially on communication. I also know Latin, which is very important for understanding the inner workings of the language.
