About Melissa
Hello! My name is Mrs. Fagnant, and I’m a certified elementary school teacher with years of classroom experience and a deep passion for helping young learners grow. I currently teach first grade and am in the final stages of completing my Master’s in Education. I’ve been trained in the Science of Reading, which means I use evidence-based strategies that truly help students build strong foundations in reading, writing, and comprehension. As a bilingual educator, I speak both English and Spanish, and I pride myself on being able to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. My approach is patient, engaging, and personalized to each child’s needs—whether they need support catching up or a challenge to move ahead. Families can count on me to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel confident and supported. I believe that every child is capable of growth, and I’m committed to helping them succeed not just academically, but in building the confidence they need to thrive.
