About Annaugh
I've been tutoring for over 5 years and studied several Education courses at the University of Virginia (UVA). At UVA, I loved being a part of the varsity women's soccer and having the opportunity to mentor young soccer players in the community and coach soccer camps as well. After receiving my Bachelor of Arts in English from UVA, I decided to combine my passions for English and tutoring/mentoring, and pursue a teaching certification in TEFL/TESOL. Since then, I have been enjoying tutoring English learners in the community.

I approach teaching like I approach coaching soccer. The student and I are both on the same side, working for the same team and the same goals. It's us working together, as a team, and the student actively engaging with the material and bringing his/her ideas to the table. It's not me vs. the student, or me just serving the student information to help him/her pass a test. I'm not just helping the student "win a game," I'm helping him/her develop as a player. The process isn't always going to be quick and easy-to-see results. It's going to take time, and it's going to take mistakes, and that's okay! Because mistakes help us grow! I want my students to feel confident in everything they do, and feel like we're working together on this.
