About Sophia

Hi! I'm Sophia.

+8 years of experience, +3000 hours of teaching.
A French native conversational coach, here to get you real-world results!

A little bit about my background! I have learnt 'teaching' in France, with an English BA from 'Sorbonne' and a Master's in Language Teaching from Artois.

My education and my experience - in schools, online, with adults and professionals has taught me so much more.

95% of my students came to me for one thing - conversation. I was always very surprised how, despite all their efforts and deep motivation, they didn't manage to reach that goal before coming to me.

Let me talk to you about my student, Davy.
A hard-working student who managed to get from total beginner to intermediate (teachers, platforms...). Despite her hard work, she was stuck at an intermediate level for years.

And that is not surprising. Most teachers and platforms teach "French". No focus, no structure, no strategy. Just random notions here and there, which can be useful, but do not help you reach an actual goal.

🏼 Together, we actually established a strategy and talked about her goals. This is where I have noticed some patterns with Davy. That, she then, recognized in herself. (Good student syndrom, and so much more).

Within 5 sessions, she managed to get more confident, learned so much about herself, and dared talk with her colleagues with confidence.

Because my goal is not "teaching you French", but to create transformation.

Here's how we did it with Davy:

An audit: We take a moment to analyse what you want to achieve with French and establish a strategy to work together, and reach that goal.

An intention: we set an intention for your coaching. As precise as possible.

Consistency: We make sure, each session, you and I, that we stay aligned with that intention, and so that every session is a new step towards that goal. We can always revisit that goal if necessary.

I will invite you to the work at home as well, challenge yourself, and keep you accountable, so that we can see micro-evolutions throughout our sessions.

About the lesson

In our lessons, we focus on real progress, not just passive conversation.
Each session begins with a quick check-in: what’s changed, where you’re still stuck, and what you want to work on.

We’ll define clear goals together, and I’ll guide you with a mix of structure, strategy, and feedback, all in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere.

If needed, we’ll dive into grammar, pronunciation or structure, but always in context. You’ll leave each session with something concrete to build on, and a little more confidence every time.
