About Deepti

A passionate and fun-loving educator certified by Jolly UK and certified TEFL educator with a demonstrated history of working with early and primary learners across the globe, training teachers, and also developing innovative lesson plans for Phonics, Grammar, and Communicative English. Having a total of 8+ years of experience in the teaching field enables me to easily interact with kids, help and guide them effectively to build a good foundation in the art of reading, writing, and speaking the language through various innovative methodologies which will eventually make the kids confident and independent in using the language.

About the lesson

NOTE: The lessons for phonics and grammar are for kids aged 3-8+ years. The phonics curriculum will align with Jolly Phonics. Public speaking and communication building is for 7+ years. Phonics and grammar classes are handled in the most interesting way through: 1. Listening to stories 2. Listening to jingles 3. Multisensory activities 4. Solving worksheets 5. Playing board games, using flashcards. The lesson plans are decided based on the skills of the child into three levels for phonics: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. BEGINNER: (1-2 months) Introduction to letter sounds, Letter recognition, Vocabulary building, Blending CVC words, Segmenting CVC words, Sight words. INTERMEDIATE: (3-4 months) Letter sounds, Blending 3, 4, 5+ letter words, Consonant blending, Spelling rules (magic e, c/k rule, floss rule, etc.), Digraphs, Diphthongs, Sight words, Reading and Writing phrases. ADVANCED: (1-2 months) Spelling rules (magic e, rabbit rule, syllables, tch and ch, soft and hard “g”, “c” etc.), Alternate sounds, Trigraphs, Quadgraphs, Reading and Writing complete sentences, Sight words. The lessons in grammar are also aligned with Jolly Grammar with the following topics that would be covered: 1. Nouns 2. Pronouns 3. Articles 4. Singular and Plural 5. Verbs 6. Conjunctions 7. Interjections 8. Adjectives 9. Idioms 10. Comprehension 11. Compound Words. All topics are taught with innovative techniques to remember the concept and with worksheets to solve to apply what is learned. Public speaking and communicative English classes include: 1. Building vocabulary for day-to-day communication 2. Learning to say 3-4 sentences about a topic 3. Journaling 4. Debating on a particular topic 5. Working on intonation and body language while communicating.
