About Joo Young
Hi, I'm Joo Young, a certified Korean language teacher based in Sydney, Australia. I hold a Level 2 Korean Language Teaching Certificate and have been teaching Korean for 13 years.
Most of my experience has been teaching Korean heritage students — including at Epping Public School and the Denistone/Eastwood after-school Korean language classes. I've also spent a year and a half teaching adult learners online, guiding them through TOPIK II preparation as well as everyday conversational Korean.
For me, teaching Korean isn't just a job — it feels like a calling, and I genuinely love what I do. Now, I'd love to share that passion with Sydney locals who want to learn Korean, whatever your reason: culture, travel, family, or simply the joy of learning a new language.

Hi, I'm Joo Young! I've been teaching Korean for 13 years and hold a Level 2 Korean Language Teaching Certificate.
I tailor each lesson to the student's level and goals — balancing speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. Younger learners enjoy stories, songs and games, while teens and adults focus on practical conversation and structured learning. I have hands-on experience preparing students for TOPIK I & II, and I'm also well equipped to guide students through HSC Korean.
Lesson length isn't fixed — we'll work out what suits you best. I teach all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners.
